Students were asked to: - Plan the food and supplies for a hypothetical class party - - Apply various strategies to determine quantities of food and beverages based on class size - - Arrange desks in reasonable and equal groupings - - Take chosen quantities of food/beverages and divide equally among parent volunteers 9/15/2015 3

Building and Testing Materials and Design Gr. 3 Science - - Students conducted experiments to test a variety of materials and structure designs. - - Had choice in type of bridge to build and materials they used. - - Exposed to a variety of structures. - - Learned from others’ experiences and designs. - - Culminated in sharing with their peers and the school. 9/15/2015 5
