3 Developing learning materials Case study Copyright for Librarians" - an Online Open Curriculum on Copyright Law improved with recommendations from the East African School of Library and Information Science (EASLIS), Uganda road-tested at the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs, University of Illinois 3

4 Developing learning materials Aims to inform librarians about copyright law in general, and in particular aspects of copyright law that most affect libraries Develops an understanding of role of libraries in protecting and promoting access to knowledge role of copyright in the development priorities of a country 4

5 Developing learning materials Course design Nine modules, at five different levels, can be used as the basis for a self-taught course, as traditional classroom learning or as distance- learning Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Licence, the curriculum is freely available for printing, distribution, translation and adaptation 5
