Once you know the solute concentration, you can calculate solute potential using the following formula: Solute potential ( s) = –iCRT i = the number of particles the molecule will make in water –ex. NaCl = 2 –ex. Sucrose or Glucose = 1 C = molar concentration (from your experimental data graph) R = pressure constant = 0.0831 L bar/mole K T - temp in degrees Kelvin = 273 + o C of solution
