11. Indian Removal Act (1830)
Authorized removal of all Indians living East of the Mississippi to Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma).

12. Cherokee Nation
The Cherokees tried to adopt European ways, establishing a government, and an alphabet. When facing removal, they sued the US.

13. “Worcester vs. Georgia”
Although the Supreme Court said that the Cherokees only had to follow federal law, Jackson ignored the ruling. This resulted in the “Trail of Tears”.

14. The Second Seminole War
The US said the Seminoles had to get out of Florida. They tried to force them, but the Seminoles (led by Osceola) were never defeated.
