Erika’s Wild and Crazy Trip!!!

Ideas for Today and Tomorrow 1 Vacation Itinerary Day 1-Leave San Antonio and fly to Kansas City, Kansas. Arrive in Kansas City and then drive to Marais des Cygnes. Observe wildlife. Day 2-Go back and take pictures of wildlife and scenery. Day 3-Leave Kansas City and fly to Albequerque,NM. From Albequerque we will then drive 80 miles to El Malpais. Here we will go horsebackriding and camp out for two nights. Day 5- take camp down and drive back to Albequerque. From there we will fly to Florida City,Florida Day 6-Arrive in Florida City and drive to Convoy Point. From here we will take a boat to Biscayne National Park. When we arrive we will go to our hotel and sleep. Day 7-Wake up and go kayaking, take a lunch break, then go snorkling through the beautiful coral reefs! Go out to a nice dinner, and then back to the hotel for R and R! Day 8-Wake up, have brunch and then go on a Glass Bottom Boat Tour. Go back to the hotel and pack. Day 9-Fly out in the morning for the enchanting island….PURTO RICO! Arrrive there and go shopping, then lunch, and dinner on the boardwalk. Day 10-Wake up and drive to the Caribbean National Forest. Hike a trail and reach the top, to see the rainforest canopy….WHAT A SITE! Hike back down and it’s off to the hotel resort. Day 11-Drive back to CNF! We forgot our picnic! Have a picninc by a waterfall, and take a short swim. After eating its off to Luquillo beach for us, then back to the hotel resort for a night on the town!

Vacation Itinerary Continued….. Day 12- Go visit the relatives and catch up on things, then enjoy a delicious Puerto Rican cuisine compliments of my grandma! Day 13- Wake up at 3 a.m. and watch the sunrise! Then sleep until 1 p.m and pack because we are going to Miami, bienvenidos a Miami!!! Leave for Miami at 6 p.m. Arrive in Miami at 10 p.m, and leave for SA-town baby! Day 14-Arrive in SA-town….HOME SWEET HOME!!

Goal and Objective 3 Marais des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge Located 39 miles south of Kansas City, Kansas Here I will observe wildlife and use this to take interesting photography Established to protect bottomland hardwood forest in the U.S and the largest contiguous tract of bottomland hardwood forest in Kansas. Harbors 30 species of mussels Can view many uncommon plant and animal communities like rare bottomland hardwood forest and tallgrass prairie

Today’s Situation 4 El Malpais National Conservation Area South of Grants, New Mexico, 80 miles west of Albuquerque Here I will go camping and also horseback riding Protects nationally significant geological, archaeological, ecological, cultural, scenic, scientific, and wilderness resources surrounding the Grants Lava Flows Archeologists use this area to find artifacts from Indian groups like the Laguna and Zuni, and the Ramah Navajo

How Did We Get Here? 5 Biscayne National Park Located of the eastern coast of Florida 95% of the park is covered by water It’s the largest marine park in the National Park System Here I will go snorkeling through coral reefs, kayak, and take a glass bottom boat tour. Protects 10 federally listed endangered species Four major ecosystems are protected within the park designated as a national park to protect a rare combination of terrestrial and undersea life

Vision Statement 2 Caribbean National Forest In the Sierra de Luquillo mountains, 25 miles northeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico I will go hiking, and enjoy a picnic beside a pristine waterfall. The only tropical rainforest in the National Forest System Habitat for 5 endangered species, and 1 threatened species. Furnishes water for domestic uses, and electrical power generation 36 private families obtain their water from this forest
