“The Beast” Daniel 7, Revelations 13

front page of the Chicago Tribune, May 7,1996
The article stated in part, "A tiny chip implanted inside the body. . long a popular delusion among paranoids. is likely to he marketed as a consumer item early in the next century [around the year 2000]. Edward Cornish. president of the world future society in Maryland, says 'This is currently very hot." He continues, 'Although potential problems are huge, [implantable] locator ID chips may be inevitable. . at least initially, such chips would be voluntary. but things that are voluntary today have a way of becoming compulsory tomorrow. . .Some employers now require staff to wear pagers. Someday, they may require chips." Mr. Bernard Beck, a Northwestern University sociologist, "If I have a universal id [chip] implanted, I can cash a check anywhere in the world. There's no worry about credit cards being stolen. These are attractive matters." In another place in the article the following admission was made. "The notion of using implantable chips to control humans isn't entirely absent, even in these early stages of the technology's development." One such individual is Tim Willard, Executive Officer of the World Future Society, a Washington, DC-based organization that claims 27,000 members worldwide, including Future Shock author, Alvin Toffler. In a disturbing article appearing in The Mann Independent Journal (4-2-89), Willard openly suggested using biochip technology in humans. "The technology behind such a microchip is fairly uncomplicated and with a little refinement could be used in variety of human application. Conceivably, a number could be assigned at birth and go with a person throughout life. . Most likely the biochip would be implanted on the back of the hand so that it would be easy to scan." Willard says it would be like a universal ID card, replacing all other forms of ID. "At the checkout stand at a supermarket, you would simply pass your hand over a scanner and your bank account would automatically be debited." Most biochips and radio-wave scanners utilize low frequency 125 kHz radio signals; the same frequency used in AM medium-wave broadcasting. These low frequency radio waves can penetrate all solid objects except those made of metal. Electronic ID based on these radio signals is referred to as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Once the scanner is activated, it digitally displays the chip's decoded ID number on a liquid crystal display screen. Destron can encode up to ten digits on its chips, whereas Texas Instruments can encode up to nineteen digits. The smallest biochips can be encoded with up to 34 billion unique ID numbers! A spokesman from Trovan says that with the latest technology "the number of possible code combinations could approach one trillion." ." On November 8,1991, the Los Angeles City Council voted to implant pets, making Los Angeles the first big city to adopt the microchip program in America. Since then, other major cities have endorsed RFID technology. The technology for a national ID card is clearly available. However, Martin Anderson, in concluding his "High-Tech National Tattoo" article, asks a very important question---what if we lose the card? Jokingly, he says we can wear the card on a chain around our necks. But there is another solution, writes Anderson, "Although I hesitate to mention the idea because one of Mr. Clinton's White House aides may take it seriously. You see, there is an identification system made by Hughes Aircraft Company that you can't lose. It's the syringe implantable transponder.. .a tiny microchip is simply placed under the skin." Of course, this is the same biochip now being used in animals, it's sort of like a technological tattoo," says Anderson, "and far more efficacious than the numbers that the Nazis marked indelibly on the inner forearms of concentration camp prisoners. . Of course, most Americans will find a surgically implanted government microchip repugnant. So at least for the foreseeable future, the use of this ingenious device will be confined to its current use: the tracking of dogs, cats, horses and cattle." Perhaps only for the foreseeable future---perhaps sooner than we think. DIGITAL ANGEL Source: Wednesday December 15, 9:46 am Eastern Time Company Press Release Applied Digital Solutions Acquires Rights to World's First Digital Device Implantable in Humans - With Applications in E-business to Business Security, Health Care and Criminal Justice PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, Inserted just under the skin, with maintenance-free regenerating power supply, miniature ``Digital Angel'' has multi-billion dollar market potential Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSX - news) today announced that it has acquired the patent rights to a miniature digital transceiver -- which it has named ``Digital Angel'' -- that can be used for a variety of purposes, such as providing a tamper-proof means of identification for enhanced e-business security, locating lost or missing individuals, tracking the location of valuable property and monitoring the medical conditions of at-risk patients. In the agreement signed last week, ADS acquired the right to develop this unique product itself for all of its applications or to sublicense the development of specific applications to other entities. A special technology group has been formed within ADS to supervise the development of the device. The implantable transceiver sends and receives data and can be continuously tracked by GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) technology. The transceiver's power supply and actuation system are unlike anything ever created. When implanted within a body, the device is powered electromechanically through the movement of muscles, and it can be activated either by the ``wearer'' or by the monitoring facility. A novel sensation feedback feature will even allow the wearer to control the device to some degree. The ``smart'' device is also small enough to be hidden inconspicuously on or within valuable personal belongings and priceless works of art. Commenting on Digital Angel's many potential applications, Richard J. Sullivan, Chairman and CEO of Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (ADS), said: ``We believe its potential for improving individual and e-business security and enhancing the quality of life for millions of people is virtually limitless. Although we're in the early developmental phase, we expect to come forward with applications in many different areas, from medical monitoring to law enforcement. However, in keeping with our core strengths in the e-business to business arena, we plan to focus our initial development efforts on the growing field of e-commerce security and user ID verification.'' Sullivan added that the multi-purpose technology would enable ADS to tap into a vast global market, through licensing and other commercial arrangements, with an estimated total value in excess of $100 billion. ``The e-business to business security market alone could reach as high as $10 to $12 billion in the near future,'' Sullivan added. ADS is actively seeking joint venture partners to help develop and market the unique technology. The company expects to create a working prototype by the end of next year. Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. is an e-business to business solutions provider offering Internet, telecom, LAN and software services to a wide variety of businesses throughout North America. For more information, visit the Company's web site at Background On May 13, 1997, United States Patent Number 5,629,678 was granted for a ``personal tracking and recovery system,'' consisting of a miniature digital transceiver -- implantable in humans -- with a built-in, electromechanical power supply and actuation system. These features enable the device to remain implanted and functional for years without maintenance. This transceiver sends and receives data and can be continuously tracked by Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) technology. On December 10, 1999, Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (ADS) acquired the patent rights to this technology, which the company refers to as ``Digital Angel.'' The agreement gives ADS the right to develop this unique product for all of its applications or to sublicense the development of specific applications to other entities. ADS is actively seeking joint venture partners to develop and market this technology. We expect to produce a prototype of the device by the end of We believe the potential global market for this device -- in all of its applications -- could exceed $100 billion. Limitations of Competing Technologies While a number of other tracking and monitoring technologies have been patented and marketed in the past, they are all unsuitable for the widespread tracking, recovery and identification of people due to a variety of limitations, including unwieldy size, maintenance requirements, insufficient or inconvenient power-supply and activation difficulties. For the first time in the history of location and monitoring technology, Digital Angel overcomes these limitations. Basic Features and Potential Uses of Digital Angel The Digital Angel transceiver can be implanted just under the skin or hidden inconspicuously on or within valuable personal belongings and priceless works of art. When implanted within the human body, the transceiver is powered electromechanically through the movement of muscles. It can be activated either by the ``wearer'' or by a remote monitoring facility. The device also can monitor certain biological functions of the human body - such as heart rate - and send a distress signal to a monitoring facility when it detects a medical emergency. Although still in the early developmental stage, we believe Digital Angel could have an array of beneficial potential applications: provide a tamper-proof means of locating and identifying individuals for e-business and e-commerce security; locate individuals, including children, who are lost or who have been abducted; monitor the medical conditions of at-risk patients; track and locate military, diplomatic and other essential government personnel; determine the location or the authenticity of valuable property; track the whereabouts of wilderness sports enthusiasts (mountain climbers, hikers, skiers, etc.). About Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. is an e-business to business solutions provider offering Internet, telecom, LAN and software services to a wide variety of businesses throughout North America. ADS is led by Richard J. Sullivan, who was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors and named Chief Executive Officer in May Since assuming this role, he has spearheaded the acquisition of some 40 companies over the past five years. Trovan markets a number of passive transponder security card products based on their RF transponder designs. Can program up to 1 trillion code numbers. Widely known is the Hughes Identification Device RF/ID tag. Their injectable transponder is the TX1400L, 11mm x 2.1mm, glass encapsulated. Product literature says: "Although specifically designed for injecting in animals, this transponder can be used for other applications requiring a micro-sized identification tag." Copyright (c) InfoWorld Publishing Company 1996 November 25, 1996 (Vol. 18, Issue 48) Future technology will wire people By Ed Scannell For the first time, IBM last week demonstrated technology that uses the natural salinity in the human body as a conductor to send and receive data electronically. At fall Comdex in Las Vegas, IBM showed a prototype transmitter called the Personal Area Network (PAN). About the size of a deck of cards, it has an embedded microchip along with a slightly larger receiving device. IBM researchers were able to transmit an electronic business card between two people who were simply shaking hands. The present prototype allows data to be sent between as many as four bodies that touch each other. "The current used is only one-billionth of an amp, which is lower than the current that the human body ordinarily uses. It passes just below the skin and doesn't touch any of the major organs," said Thomas Zimmerman, a researcher working on the project at IBM's Almaden Research Center, in San Jose, Calif. The speed at which data is sent is equivalent to a 2400Kbps modem. At least theoretically, 400Kbps of data can be sent using the technology, researchers said. IBM does not expect to produce a commercial product that uses this technology for at least a few more years. Aside from passing data between electronic devices being carried by two people, such as in the business card demonstration, IBM researchers envision the technology being applied in other ways. · It could be used to exchange data between personal information and communications devices carried by users, such as cellular phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, and smart cards, which would constitute a sort of LAN that most users wear physically. · It could secure consumer business transactions, such as public phones outfitted with PAN sensors that could automatically identify users so that they would no longer need a calling card. Some of the technology in the PAN grew out of work done at MIT's Media Laboratory. The initial funding was provided by IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Festo Didactic. Biometrics, e-cash to gain ground in '98, Gartner says By Kristi Essick InfoWorld Electric Posted at 9:11 AM PT, Jan 29, A day you imagined to be in the distant future -- when your PC recognizes you by reading your facial features and you'll purchase goods over the Internet with digital coins stored in an online bank account -- may not be as far off as you think. Research consultancy GartnerGroup has compiled a list of the "top 10 technologies to watch in 1998" and the results contain some forward-thinking items. For example, GartnerGroup predicts that biometrics -- the computer's capability to read fingerprints, the iris of your eye, or your facial shape -- and electronic cash that can be downloaded and spent online will be just two of the top 10 emerging technologies to watch in However, while both technologies are gaining attention, neither is ready for the general market consumption now, the report said. In the short term, businesses should get ready for desktop videoconferencing, which will let PC users communicate via the exchange of video and audio using software and a small camera mounted on a PC monitor, according to GartnerGroup. Desktop videoconferencing, as well as speech recognition and personal digital assistants (PDAs) are all set to catch on this year, as they are finally at the stage of general acceptance in the business market, according to the report. Push technology, smart cards, and network computers have not met the wild predictions for success expounded in the early phase, the report said. They are trends to watch, but the products won't be popular on a wide scale until new developments establish their business value, the report said. Two technologies that the report predicts will catch on in the next two years are document imaging (the scanning of paper documents into electronic images) and database mining (the sorting and analyzing of database information to gain business insights from patterns). Because both have proven to offer real-world business benefits, they will become important business tools by 2000, the report said. While new technologies are often hyped in the early stages, later they usually follow stages of disillusionment, enlightenment, and, finally, productivity. Most businesses won't want to adopt new technologies until they have proven business-productivity value, according to GartnerGroup. However, certain vertical industries would do well to begin using some of the top 10 emerging technologies early on, the report said. For example, GartnerGroup advises banking, insurance, and media organizations to adopt push technology in the early stages of development, while governments should expect to find relevant uses for biometrics by 1999, according to GartnerGroup. According to the report, published on GartnerGroup's World Wide Web-based Business Technology Journal, the 10 technologies to watch in 1998 are: biometrics; desktop videoconferencing; data mining; document imaging; electronic cash; network computers; personal digital assistants; push technology; smart cards; and speech recognition.

Daniel 7 7:1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel saw a dream and visions in his mind as he lay on his bed; then he wrote the dream down and related the following summary of it. 2 Daniel said, "I was looking in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.
4
Daniel 7 3 "And four great beasts were coming up from the sea, different from one another. 4 "The first was like a lion and had the wings of an eagle. I kept looking until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man; a human mind also was given to it.
5
Daniel 7 5 "And behold, another beast, a second one, resembling a bear. And it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth; and thus they said to it, 'Arise, devour much meat!' 6 "After this I kept looking, and behold, another one, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird; the beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.
6
Daniel 7 7 "After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.
7
Daniel 7 8 "While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.
8
Daniel 7 9 "I kept looking Until thrones were set up, And the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow And the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, Its wheels were a burning fire. 10 "A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him; Thousands upon thousands were attending Him, And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; The court sat, And the books were opened.
9
Daniel 7 11 "Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking…
10
Daniel 7 11 …I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire. 12 "As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time. 13 "I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him.
11
Daniel 7 14 "And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.

Prophecy: It’s the Word of God!
Over 20% of the Bible, 3 Major Themes: The Judgment(s) of Israel and neighbors. The 1st Coming of the Messiah (Fulfilled) The 2nd Coming of the Messiah (Unfulfilled) Fulfilled Prophecy: Genesis, 1 Samuel, Psalms, Isaiah,* Jeremiah,* Ezekiel,* Daniel,* Micah,* Zechariah,* Joel,* Amos,* Obadiah, Nahum, Zepheniah,* Haggai,* Malachi* (* also contains Unfulfilled Prophecy) New Testament Unfulfilled: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, 1+ 2 Thessalonians, Timothy, 1+2 John, Jude, Revelations Christ’s Teachings on Prophecy: Matthew 10:23:24; 11:23; 19:28; 21:43-44; 24; 25:31-46; 26:17-35, 46, 64; Mark 9:1; 10:30; 13; 11:1-6, 14; 14:12-31, 42, 62; 16:17 Luke12:36-39; 19; 21; John 14:3; Acts 1:11 3 Major Themes: unlike other “crazy prophet” books, the Bible isn’t into sensationalistic future-telling for the sake of future-telling. Its there because God is revealing his purposes here on planet earth. It tells a story. It’s all a united whole. You can’t just jump into Revelations and understand it, it’s the last chapter in a long story: you have to know the story line up to that point. Because it’s such a united whole, it also makes it a little difficult to comprehend. It requires some cross-referencing, some knowledge of the other books, ie, some work: prophecy is self-supportive, interwoven, a fabric. Matt, Mark, Luke: Christ taught extensively on prophecy.

Prophecy: a Biblical Perspective
2 Peter 3:12-13 (NLT) [12] You should look forward to that day and hurry it along—the day when God will set the heavens on fire and the elements will melt away in the flames. [13] But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world where everyone is right with God. Jews were accountable to know and recognize prophetic fulfillment: Mt.23:24-37; Luke 19:44; Acts 2: Prophecy is always rejected and ridiculed Neh. 9:30; 1 Kings 18:13; 19:10; 2 Chron.36:16; Jer.2:30; Amos 2:12; Mt.13:57; Lk.4:24-27; John 4:44; 23:24-37; 2 Peter 3:4; James 5:10 We should pay close attention to it 1 Thes. 5:20; 2 Peter 1:19; Rev. 1:3 Maranatha! 1Cor.16:2 We are to pay: this is why so many Christians are excited today… Rev.1:3 When John says, “the time is near,” he is urging his readers to be ready at all times for the Last Judgment and the establishment of God’s kingdom. We do not know when these events will occur, but we must always be prepared. They will happen quickly, and there will be no second chance to change sides.

Late Dating of Daniel “The Neoplatonic philosopher Porphyry back in the third century A.D. devoted a considerable portion of his polemic Against the Christians to a rationalist explanation of the Book of Daniel. He reasoned that the detailed and accurate predictions in the book point to its having been forged by some unknown author who lived in the days of the Maccabean patriots. Porphyry argued that ‘he who wrote the book under the name of Daniel lied for the sake of reviving their hope’.“ “Modern Rationalism and the Book of Daniel” Gleason L. “Clear cuneiform evidence now demonstrates why the Book of Daniel names Belshazzar, rather than his father, Nabonidus, as king of Babylon. Nabonidus…became alienated from the people of Babylon. He took the unprecedented step of moving to the Arabian city of Tema, leaving ‘kingship’ in the hands of his son.” “Archaeological Backgrounds of the Exilic and Postexilic Era, Part I: The Archaeological Background of Daniel” Edwin M. Yamauchi, Bibliotheca Sacra, Jun-Mar 1980, p.545 [Edwin M. Yamauchi, Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, History Department, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.]
