Genesis 1,2,3 1:26 Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’ 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.

2:18 The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’ 2:21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 2:22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 2:23 The man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called “woman”, for she was taken out of man.’ 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. 25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

3:12 The man said, ‘The woman you put here with me – she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.’ 3:13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, ‘What is this you have done?’ The woman said, ‘The snake deceived me, and I ate.’ 3:16 To the woman he said, ‘I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labour you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.’

3:17 To Adam he said, ‘Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, “You must not eat from it,” ‘Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. 3:18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 3:19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you will return.’ 3:20 Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living. Thank God for his written Word to us

New living translation Isaiah 62:4 (about Zion) Never again will you be called "The Forsaken City" or "The Desolate Land." Your new name will be "The City of God's Delight" and "The Bride of God," for the LORD delights in you and will claim you as his bride. NIV 2 Corinthians 11v2 2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. God’s commits to love us in marriage

6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.) Revelation 19 God’s commits to love us in marriage

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. Revelation 21:2 God’s commits to love us in marriage

Jesus becomes like Adam to marry the bride, a renewed Eve. God commits to become a man as Jesus, taking on dust like Adam. He takes our pain on Himself using His flesh to absorb violence and sin. We are now of His flesh as His bride, we are given communion for this and He is delighted (“the city of God’s delight”).

Jesus takes the curses. Tree of knowledge of good and evil Thorns Death Nakedness Eviction Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree” Galatians 3:13 (ESV)

John 6v51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” Jesus becomes like Adam to marry the bride, a renewed Eve.

Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you. Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living. Jesus is our husband, rejoice! Act as the new Eve.

“Eve was not taken out of Adam's head to top him, neither out of his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved by him.” Matthew Henry
