The earthquake in Nepal has killed and injured over 10,000 people. Many survivors are in desperate need For food and clean water. Water and electricity are in very short supply.

The earthquake is said to be the biggest earthquake in 80 years. Over thousands of people in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital are spending their nights outside. Many roads are cracked and blocked.

Eight million people have been affected by the massive earthquake in Nepal - more than a quarter of the country's population Trucks full of food like rice and sugar are now trying to get to villagers in hard to reach mountain areas. It is also a very poor country and many of the houses there were not built to cope with an earthquake of this size. Since the earthquake happened many people have lost their homes and are living in temporary camps
