Its goal is to support youth and young adults in the period of their transition from School to occupational life.

HISTORY Established in 1984 within 2nd programme ‘Transition from school to occupational activity’ Luxemburg institution in 1987 Legal basis in 2008

Connect school with the outside world Teams: Educators (Bachelor) in regional offices Teachers at Vocational Lycees Network on the regional level

Our tasks: Individual care for young people from the moment they encounter first difficulties in finding an apprenticeship or a job; or even earlier when school difficulties appear; Personalized support of students who enrolled to guidance workshops, during 2 years after the completion of training; Individual support to students working out their way to the labour market; Recording their vocational courses for statistical evaluation.

Offering a place to favour the ‘transition’ of young people from school to occupational activity, in particular those most vulnerable, - low educational and vocational qualifications - finishing school and vocational training - early school leavers (abandoned, expelled from school) - in the situation of occupational and/or social instability looking for information regarding occupational activity or vocational training. ► Having in mind the concept of their sustainable socio- professional insertion. General goal:

Concluding a work placement or an employment contract in a craft business or a commercial company; (Re) Integrating the Luxembourg school system or a school abroad; Registration for various school classes promoting employability or work placement; Engaging into a voluntary guidance service (EVS); Participation in an employability measure offered by the Administration of Employment. Our aims:

Measures applied (1) In the final year of compulsory education: Stimulating interest in the labour market „Ech entdecken d’Aarbechtswelt” (I discover the world of labour) Introducing the techniques of job search (preparing cv, interviews) „Op der Sich no enger Ausbildungsplaz“ (Searching for placement)

Measures applied (2) Showing the interdependence of everyday life and work „D’Liewen no der Schoul“ (Life after school) Organizing placement in companies „Schnupperlehre“

Measures applied (3) Coaching young people as they leave school until their occupational integration (guidance and practical assistance) through: Listening and information, Analyzing the situation, Creating a socio-professional project, Assistance in looking for apprenticeship or employment

Measures applied (4) Finding and supporting school dropouts –Initiating a personalized contact with every early school leaver. –Offering of cooperation and support. Looking for alternatives towards resignation. Strengthening leadership and decision-making ability of young people. –Statistical evaluation and better understanding of the school dropout.
