Junior/Senior Calendar ●September/October/November/December 2016- Complete College Applications ●October/November/December 2016- Take SAT Reasoning Test and Subject Tests and/or ACT ●November 1, 2016-Priority Deadline for University of Maryland, College Park and many others. ●January/February 2017- Complete FAFSA Form ●March/April 2017- Receive Decisions from Colleges ●May 1, 2017- Make Final Decision on School Attending

The New SAT 11 Starting in March 2016 -Reading- more relevant words -Writing and Language- interpret, synthesize and use evidence -Math- More advanced math: problem solving & data analysis -Essay-Is optional, but check college requirements No penalty for wrong answers! 3 hours (+50 minutes for Essay) The test costs $54.50 — or $43 if you don’t sign up for the SAT Essay Use Khan Academy to study! The PSAT this October will be aligned with the new SAT

A web-based resource for students and parents that encourages and supports post high school career and college planning A comprehensive website that you and your child can use to help in making decisions about courses, colleges, and careers. Family Connection is specific to River Hill Family Connection is linked with Naviance Succeed, a service that is used by the Student Services to track data about college and career plans to help students with post-high school decisions 13 Family Connection /Naviance
