Training Objectives Review Upcoming Important Dates for 2015 NC School Report Card (SRC) Release Highlight new indicators for 2015 on the NC SRC Highlight information on the Communications website Updates and Question and Answer Session with guest NCDPI Data Stewards

Each month, approximately 60,000 people visit the NC School Report Cards site. The School Report Cards website informs citizens about metrics such as: Class size Certification background of teachers School safety Academic performance The site also serves as a primary reporting means for the schools and districts regarding the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) performance. September 1-11: Welcome Letter submission period September 21 – October 2: Initial Data Preview October 15: Public Release of School Report Cards SRC Timeline

What’s New 1 This is the first year that the School Report Cards data will be released in stages The READY Accountability data, as well as a few other indicators, will be included in the first release on October 15 Teacher quality data, and the remaining indicators, will be released at a later date in the fall of 2015 as it becomes available

What’s New 2 SRC Snapshots have moved to their own tab and continue to be available in English and Spanish An indicator for the STEM designation has been added to the School Information tab Schools that are designated as Focus schools due to failure to meet participation targets for three years will identified in the Report Cards

What’s New 3 The Advanced Placement (AP) report now includes a list of face-to-face AP courses offered at a school New indicators from the Annual Media and Technology Report (AMTR) Educator Effectiveness data New State Level Reports –Historical trends in student and teacher populations –Nation Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP)

Welcome Letter The Welcome Letter is a great opportunity to highlight local achievements. The letter is located on your LEA’s or charter school’s website. School Report Cards will only link to the LEA page. We cannot link to individual letters. The Welcome Letter needs to be coordinated with your local webmaster. Welcome Letter URLs can be submitted anytime from September 1-11.
