2 HEART Registry & Reference Repository Background: The existing HL7 Shared Artifact Repository project previously approved in principle is subsumed by the HEART Project Status: The Rockefeller Foundation provided seed money to target resource- poor audience to enable discovery and reuse of health related ICT assets Project team in place and working Soliciting additional participants for contributions in kind and $$ HL7 to be an early adopter Approach: Open iterative development strategy 2

3 Value Proposition Many OHT members require ability to register the existence of and relationships among controlled assets Assets are controlled components of interdependent technical environments and include (but are not limited to) Models Specification components Vocabulary codes systems, concept domains and value sets Source code Software documentation components HEART Registration and Repository Access will support a collaborative ecosystem with asset accountability HEART’s approach of: design for change – manage for change; will always keep the users needs first 3
