3. ROBOTICS COMPETITION The students who spoke to Mr. Sullivan about participating in the Robotics Competition, please stop by the Main Office to pick up an application.

4. SPIRIT AND PRIDE Students and staff, please remember to return your Spirit and Pride orders no later than this Friday, August 21 st. Show your AMS Spirit and Pride by ordering your shirt today!

5. STUDENT SCHEDULES Students – all schedules are final at this time. No changes may be made due to class sizes and teacher rosters. The only changes moving forward will be related to the Discovery rotation.

6. STUDENT SCHEDULES continued If your teacher see that remediation for his/her particular subject is necessary in order for you to be successful in the class and on the SOL test, Raider Plus for that subject will be added. Discovery classes will rotate every six weeks.

7. FFA Are you in agriculture class this year or 8 th grade Discovery rotation? Do you want to travel, learn new things, meet friends, become a better leader and compete?

8. FFA continued If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you should join FFA. Dues are $15 for the entire school year. If you are interested please see Miss Gaulden in the Ag. Shop for more information.

9. FFA continued Any FFA member interested in attending National FFA Convention should complete an application by Tuesday, September 1 st. You must be a current FFA member in good standing to apply. See Miss Gaulden for an application.

10. GIRLS BASKETBALL OPEN GYM Girls Basketball will have Open Gym on Monday’s and Wednesday’s starting August 17 th at Appomattox Middle School from 6:00 – 7:30. Any girl in grades 6-12 grade is invited, but must have a valid physical in order to participate.

11. SCA Any student who is interested in running for one of the major SCA offices: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer may pick up recommendations in the main office or from your Social Studies teacher.

12. SCA continued Students should have three references (teachers, coaches, etc.) before they will be allowed to run for office. Only 8 th grade students may run for President or Vice President of SCA. 7 th grade students may run for Secretary.

13. SCA continued 6 th grade students may run for Treasurer. Applications may be submitted to either Mrs. Thomson (505) or Ms. Taylor (504).

14. AMS BOYS BASKETBALL OPEN GYM AMS Boys Basketball Open Gym will be held from 3:30 til 5:00 on the following dates: September 8 September 15 September 28

16. CROSS COUNTRY TEAM - LOLLIPOPS The Cross Country team will be selling gourmet lollipops during bus dismissal by Mrs. Fort’s room on the 6 th grade hall. Each lollipop is $1 and we have many flavors.
