1. Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/downlo ad/ http://www.apple.com/itunes/downlo ad/ http://www.apple.com/itunes/downlo ad/

2. For Windows, select the correct version of iTunes for your computer. For Mac, there is only one option which will be preselected. 3. Select the corresponding boxes and enter your email address. 4. Click “Download Now.”

5. A setup box will open. Click “Save File” for the setup file to save on the desktop. 6. Once downloaded, “iTunes Setup” icon will appear on the desktop. Double click on this icon to start the installation process.

7. On the welcome screen, hit next. 8. Once you have read the license agreement, click on “I accept the terms in the license agreement” to continue.

9. iTunes will then ask you to choose some installation options: To add the iTunes icon on the desktop, select the first option. Select “Use iTunes as default player for audio files” if you want iTunes to handle all your audio files, including CDs, MP3s, podcasts, and downloads. It is a good idea to choose the option that allows automatic updates to iTunes and Apple software. On the same screen, select the default language. Lastly, choose the destination folder of where you want to save the iTunes program. 10. Once you have selected all the necessary boxes on this screen, click “Install” to begin installation.

Troubleshooting ProblemCauseSolution “Your password is invalid”?You may be using some unsupported characters. Go to: http://support.apple.com/kb/T S1728 to look at a chart of acceptable characters. http://support.apple.com/kb/T S1728 “This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons”? Someone was unable to log into your account multiple times. Go to My Apple ID and follow the instructions to resetting your password. Can’t login in?Forgotten Password.Click on Reset Password and enter in your Apple ID. An email will be send with further instructions to reset your password.

First Order of Business Plug your iPod into the computer using the connector cable that was provided with your purchase. iTunes will install all necessary driver software automatically. Once the driver installation is complete, iTunes will open automatically the first time.

Inside iTunes Once inside iTunes, you will see the iPod in the left sidebar of the iTunes window under the “Devices” label.

Now you can start transferring Once inside your music library, you can search for the songs that you wish to copy over to the iPod. To copy, simply click and drag the selected songs into the iPod label on the left side- bar.

The “Shift” key can also be held down to select multiple files together. This can be useful when trying to move an entire album over to the iPod

This block of songs can be transferred over to the iPod by clicking and dragging the same was as transferring individual songs. Once the transferring is complete, the iPod must be ejected before being physically disconnected from the computer.

Ejecting To eject the iPod, click on the eject icon next to it in the left side-bar. The eject icon looks like this:

Deleting Files To delete a file, the iPod must be plugged into the computer. Open iTunes and navigate to the “Music” label underneath the “iPod” label in the left side-bar.

Deleting Files Once inside the iPod’s music library, you can select the files you wish to delete, and simply hit the “Delete” key on the keyboard. Remember to eject the iPod before disconnecting it from the computer!

Categorizing Your Music When your music library starts expanding, categorizing music can help you find specific songs easier. itunes provides a “Music Genre” category within song tag information to allow users to specify a certain genre for that song. There is a good selection of preset genres to choose from the drop-down menu.

Categorizing Your Music: Single File Right-click and select Get Info from the submenu. Select the Info tab. Click the down arrow under Genre to pull up a drop- down menu of music categories. Make the appropriate category selection. Click OK to save.
