7. Three Levels of Professionalism Level One (imitative-maintenence): A level one teacher is one who does what they're instructed in a mechanical fashion. Typically focus on classroom discipline and keeping students busy. They tend to follow the prescribed material. Level Two (meditative): A level two teacher reflects on what they're doing in the classroom, but rather loosely. They are aware of their students' uniqueness and may deviate from the the prescribed material. Level Three (generative-creative): A level three teacher focuses on individual students. They attend to the cirriculum, provide problem-centered material, use the interests and talents of their students. They create knowledge.
