2 What is the CDC? The CDC is an organization that is dedicated to providing the public with medical information, researching medical illnesses, and all in all promoting a healthy, happy life

3 Where is it at? There are many locations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico, the main being the one located in Atlanta, Georgia. Other CDC offices are located in Florida, Tennessee, New York, and eighteen other states. However there is no office located in Ohio.

4 How is it funded? The CDC is a government funded organization that uses 85% of it’s funding to contribute to the promotion of a healthy life and preventing/ controlling the spread of diseases and injury. Each year the total amount of money the CDC gives through grants accumulates to about $7 billion

5 What’s Going On? The CDC is working on several research projects, including……NHANES III Collaborative Genomics Project Public health genomics investigations Human Genome Epidemiology Network Evaluation of Genomic Application in Practice and Prevention (EGAPP) Family History Initiative Public health genomics capacity building

6 Methods For distribution
The CDC provides many different methods to obtain… Posting the latest research for upcoming diseases Providing office centers around the U.S. with some of the best research workers Supporting organizations that better the quality of human life
