1 Scott Newland,Ed.S. Personal Introduction of a Retired Overseas School Director

2 Growing Up  New Market Va – Exit 264 off I – 81  One Sister who is a CPA with her own firm.  Avid Golfer since age 8  Avid Motorcyclist since age 10  Enjoyed board games  Learned Chess at age 22! While in the Air Force to pass down town.  Left Air Force E6 after 8 Years.

3 East Tennessee  Graduated from ETSU after AF time with a Degree in Elementary Education  Met my (future) wife via her brother who was my dorm-mate. We have now been married over 15 years.  Moved to Fredericksburg, VA where we taught public school for 4 years.

4 Overseas - Kuwait  Took one year (actually 10 month) contract to teach in a private school in contract to teach in a private school in Kuwait. Kuwait.  Enjoyed it so much we spent 4 more years!  Completed Masters Degree in Educational Leadership while in Kuwait via onsite courses provided by the College of New Jersey.  Became Asst Principal and Director of K-12 Curriculum.

5 Overseas - Lesotho  Pronounced “le soo too” is a Kingdom surrounded by South Africa.  Was appointed Director of the American School. I was the youngest Director in the overseas community at that time!

6 Overseas - Lesotho  Began Ed Specialist Degree in C&I at University of Sarasota in Summers  Remained in Lesotho for 2 years

7 Overseas - Eritrea  Appointed Director after success in Lesotho.  Began 4 year commitment to redevelop school, leading to its first ever accreditation.  Completed Ed.S degree in 2001.  Left last year to began Doctorate in Curriculum.
