EXPECATIONS FOR STUDENTS Be on time for school in the morning & leave school promptly at dismissal in the afternoon Walk to and from school in groups when possible Remain on walking paths and out of roads Use extreme caution when crossing intersections Be mindful of residents’ yards and private property Check in at home and THEN make other plans Bring a note when transportation plans change Bike Riders: Lock up your bike as soon as you enter the property Beginning October 2015 (specific date to be announced), bikes will need to be registered through your house office Wear a helmet to and from school Stay on walking paths at all times & be aware of walkers and other bike riders

EXPECATIONS FOR PARENTS Discuss student expectations on the previous slide with your child. Ensure students leave early enough to arrive at school on time. Send a note to school if your child’s transportation plans change or contact the respective House office as early in the day as possible. Recognize the Kiss N’ Go line’s limitations and follow established traffic patterns and expectations. (right turn only during specific times?) Work with your HOA to ensure clean walkways during inclement weather. Consider supporting being present in the crosswalks to help students safely cross intersections. (Note: LCPS Transportation is providing a crossing guard in front of BRMS.) Consider creating a HOA walking parent position so there is open communication from community to school if the community has not already done so. (Locust Grove Liaison – Steve Remick)
