Operational Volume of communication Encourage parent engagement at their children’s schools Host 2nd district wide event for parents. (One event if K-12, two events if K-5 and 6- 12) Determine topic(s) of interest by November meeting. Find expert speaker(s). Host event by Spring Break 2012. Allows real time communication between meetings. Operational Volume of communication Number of fans Develop relationships with other organizations for the benefit of sharing ideas and expanding our legislative influence. Reach out to the two other PTA Councils in Duluth & Rochester. Strengthen relationship with MN PTA. Establish contact with Parents United. Regular communication with other groups Incorporated at least one new activity/ focus learned from other group. Continue to grow and formalize legislative action team. One team member be responsible for one platform issue and see it through the legislative session. Each issue better focused on and promoted.

Engage more members/families by being more inclusive. Recruit other parent groups to serve on council. Increased attendance at Council meetings. President to handle. Increase synergy and collaboration of the site PTSAs. Identify two new ‘Value Added” services and/or strengthen existing “Value Added” services. 1.Site PTSAs respond favorably to carnival idea & participate. 1.Increase donations over last year’s 3,149 lbs. 1.Implement system to invent and share carnival games. 2.Host 2 nd annual district wide food drive. Help secure legislation to ensure high quality education system. Formalize and grow legislative action team. Formalized system for legislative action and team established. Identify leader and platform.

GoalsStrategySuccess Measure Provide training and proactive problem solving assistance to each of our PTSAs. Host Leadership Academy in the spring to promote smooth officer transition. May 2008 first annual Leadership Academy! Enhance communication between Council and each PTSA. PTSA Website Embedded links Officer resources February 2009 PTSA Council website operational! Provide a forum for PTSAs to communicate and share ideas with each other. Meeting attendance a priority Virtual meeting via conference calls Blog District wide PTSA contact list Virtual attendance four times. March 2009 blog operational. March 2009 contacts with email addresses posted on website. Develop stronger school/community relations. Host district wide food drive with VEAP. Collected 3,149 pounds of donations. All 15 schools participated.
