Filling in your Active Citizenship Profile
Remember to type this up and take it into your exam!

This document is to record any citizenship activities you have participated in either inside or outside of school. Section B in the exam is worth 25 marks and will be asking a question related to your active citizenship profile.

Content area (which topic of study your action falls under)
What does it mean to be British? Are we all equal citizens? What are my rights and responsibilities? How are my rights protected and supported? Who can make a difference/ who holds power? How can I make a difference?

Examples of what can be put into the Skills profile (Nature of Task)
Doing good works (examples of being kind and neighbourly) Doing voluntary work Letter writing for Pressure Groups or to local/national government. Joining a political party. Being active for a Pressure group. Taking part in an election process. (incl mock elections) Organising a campaign/fundraiser

Evidence You must be able to show proof (if asked by the exam board) that you have carried out your action. E.G. A letter you wrote to an MP, A statement from a parent/teacher, notes of meetings, copies of posters, CAS hours, photos.

The Skills you are looking to develop in your reflections are the following:
Independent Enquirers (can plan and carry out research, see problems from different perspectives and appreciate consequences of their actions.) Creative Thinkers (generate ideas and explore possibilities) Reflective Learners (Establish goals before the action and assess it afterwards) Team Workers (work well in a team and provide support and feedback.) Self managers (Show flexibility and organise time, respond positively to change) Effective Participators ( Discuss issues of concern to your community and propose practical ways of dealing with it.) Look at why Citizenship education was introduced: Crick Report 2000: To deal with political and community apathy and encourage young people to make a difference in the world they live in by learning how to be responsible citizens.
