1 Welcome to all of you… Denyse Pharand, RN, Ph.D. Assistant Professor

2 Who I am?  As a nurse, I worked in clinical settings for 15 years (emergency and operating room)  I taught at the nursing diploma level at Cégep de l’Outaouais for 15 years  During these 15 years, I completed my post RN degree, my master degree (Education) and my Ph.D. (Education: Measurement and Evaluation)  Since 2002, I have been Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing

3 What I teach? Undergraduate level:  Bachelor degree 1st year: Introduction to Nursing and Health Professionalism and Socialization into Nursing 4th year: Adult acute care Graduate level:  Master degree Research methods (NSG 5540)

4 What are My Research Interests?  Mental health  Professional practice in nursing  Clinical teaching evaluation

5 What I did and what I do?  Aggressive behaviours prevention in psychiatric settings  Impact of a preceptorship workshops on the knowledge of the nurse preceptors  Best Practice Guidelines: Implementation in Education  Best Practice Guidelines: Evaluation of Cycle 4 (Psychometric Measures Committee)  Knowledge Exchange for Evidence-based Practice
