4 Babe Ruth is still considered the #1 Pro Baseball Player of All Time by most critics. Here is a World Timeline measured against Babe Ruth’s Life to give perspective on how many years it has been since he played baseball.  Babe Ruth is 8 years old when the Wright Brothers flew a plane for the first time (1903)  Babe signs his 1 st major League within a year of The Titanic sinking (1912)  Babe hits his first home run the year World War I starts (1914)  Babe Ruth hits his last homerun when Franklin D Roosevelt was president(1935)  Babe Ruth dies at 54 in 1948 and never sees Jackie Robinson becomes the first Black Major League Baseball player The legend of Babe Ruth has stood the test of time as we approach the 100 year anniversary of where his pro baseball career began in (1914-2014)
