Student Technology Initiative (STI) Students in grades 6-12 and DeWalt (A side) are eligible to receive a notebook computer if they participate in our STI program. Students in grades K-5 have a ratio of 1:5 notebooks on campus. All students in grades 6 -12 are issued email accounts to be used for communication with the teacher. Students are NOT able to communicate with each other using the district email system.

Technology Work Orders District Technology System – LPISD computer systems and networks or any configuration of hardware and software. This includes but is not limited to: Telephones, district cell phones, voicemail facilities E-mail accounts Fax machines Servers Computer hardware and peripherals Software Digitized information (stored text, data files, email, images, audio files) Internally accessed databases or tools Externally accessed databases New technologies as they become available

Virus Protection E-mail Anti-virus Updates for anti-virus are done automatically when you log onto the internet DO NOT download any virus protection software on your own.

General Notes Internet filtering blocks categories and individual sites Adware / Spyware software Do NOT enable pop-up blocker because some of our applications use pop-up windows Do NOT add extra toolbars

Automatic Updates Desktops may be remotely updated during the off duty hours and then shut down. Properly log out of all programs. Log off and shut down machine. If you are prompted to install updates, please do so before shutting down.

Technical Information Reimaging process – To reimage a computer means that it gets wiped clean and then reloaded with a package of software – This process provides a fresh start to a computer, which means that ALL DATA that is on that machine will be LOST and unable to be recovered.
