Buffett Foundation Scholarship The scholarship can be used to cover expenses related to attending college. The Buffett scholarship can be used to cover expenses related to attending college, It is typically used for tuition, fees and books. The scholarship amount typically covers the cost of tuition for a full-time student, based on the institution they are attending. Qualified applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher, be a first-time freshman when entering college and plan to attend a Nebraska public institutions (UNO, UNL, UNK, Wayne State, Peru State, Chadron State,MCC, CCC, Mid-Plains CC, NECC). Students need not be Pell eligible; families with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) below $15,000, are encouraged to apply.
