1 SOLID FIGURES SPI

2 Solid Figures Solids enclose a part of space (3 dimensional or 3D).
Solids with flat surfaces that are polygons are called POLYHEDRONS. There are two types of Polyhedrons called PRISMS and PYRAMIDS.

3 Solid Figures The 2-dimesional surfaces are called FACES.
Two faces intersect in a segment called an EDGE. The 2-dimesional surfaces are called FACES. Three or more edges intersect at a point called a VERTEX.

4 PRISMS A solid figure with two parallel faces called BASES. The two bases are connected by polygons called LATERAL FACES. Bases Lateral Faces

5 RECTANGULAR PRISM –CUBE-
PRISMS RECTANGULAR PRISM –CUBE- TRIANGULAR PRISM PENTAGONAL PRISM

6 PYRAMIDS Vertex Lateral Faces Base
A solid figure with one base and the lateral faces meet at a common point called the VERTEX. Vertex Lateral Faces Base

7 PYRAMIDS TRIANGULAR PYRAMID RECTANGULAR PYRAMID -TETRAHEDRON-
PENTAGONAL PYRAMIDS

8 CONES AND CYLINDERS CIRCULAR PRISM -CYLINDER- CIRCULAR PYRAMID -CONE-

9 PLATONIC SOLIDS PLATONIC SOLIDS are special polyhedrons in which all the sides are the same. Cube – all faces are squares. Tetrahedron – all faces are triangles.
