9
Parts of a 3 Dimensional Figure
Three-dimensional figures have faces, edges, and vertices. A FACE is a flat surface. An EDGE is where two faces meet. A VERTEX is where three or more edges meet.
10
Vertices, Faces & Edges Write the number of Faces, Edges and vertices for each 3-D Figure in Activity I.
11
Naming 3D Figures Poly hedron Polyhedron faces many
Some 3D Figures have special names, Poly hedron Polyhedron faces many
12
A Polyhedron is a 3D figure made of Polygons.
Poly-many; gon-angle: a 2D shape with many angles
13
Naming 3D Figures Polyhedrons Non-Polyhedrons Ask the students:
What shapes are in the non-polyhedron category? What makes Polyhedrons different from non-polyhedrons? The circles Students should recognize that polyhedrons do not have figures with circles.
