10. English schools! Students at the age of 11-12 go to a secondary school. The school year starts in September. The lesson lasts 40 or 45 minutes at English schools. Pupils in all State schools in England study 10 main subjects: English, Mathematics, and Science, History, Geography, foreign language, Art, Music, Information Technology, Physical education and Drama. Most students wear a school uniform. The favourite colours for school uniform are: blue, grey, black and green. Also English students learn foreign languages at school. Usually French is the first foreign language they learn at school. Sometimes they also learn a second foreign language: German, Spanish, Russian… British students have holidays too. They have Christmas holidays, Easter holidays and Summer holidays. Schools also have special half- term holidays in the middle of each term. These holidays last 2-3 days before or after a weekend.
