International Inspiration Vision To transform the lives of millions of children and young people of all abilities, in schools and communities across the world, through the power of high quality and inclusive physical education, sport and play

II Nigeria - outcomes Key themes : - Increased take up of sporting opportunities by children and young people of all abilities including marginalized children and children with special needs. - Through increased participation in high quality PE, Sport and play, children and young people of Nigeria, including marginalized children and children with special needs show increased engagement in education.

II Nigeria - outcomes Key themes (contd) - Through increased participation in high quality and inclusive PE, sport and play children and young people of Nigeria in targeted areas develop leadership and life skills and are empowered to become better citizens for their communities. - Through increased participation in high quality and inclusive PE, sport and play children and young people of Nigeria, including children with special needs and marginalized children are less involved in crime, violence and antisocial behaviours.

Outcomes of the debrief day: All schools will: 1) Have a clear understanding of International Inspiration in Nigeria and how the school links fit into the country plan. 2) Establish an agreed way of working with their partner school and develop a joint action plan to be completed by the return visit to UK.

International Inspiration international school partnerships International school partnerships are at the heart of International Inspiration 20 countries, 600 schools Aims: –Share good practice and take an innovative approach in the use of Physical Education, sport and play –Benefit children, young people and the wider community –Work together to enhance the educational experience of young people using PE and sport as the vehicle –Record and share work through a published case study

Developing the Partnership plan One joint plan agreed by both the UK/Nigerian schools. An emphasis on PE and sport being at the heart of the plan: To improve the quality of PE and sport in both schools To use PE and sport as a development tool to achieve wider outcomes

The Case Study A common overarching theme agreed by both schools The area of work/project identified from the partnership plan A link with the key themes from the Nigeria CP: Marginalised children Children with special needs Leadership and life skills Citizenship Reduced involvement in crime, violence and anti- social behaviour

Next steps Reciprocal visit – UK summer term – dates tbc Demonstrate regular and effective communication to maintain the momentum of the partnership Make use of E-languages Deliver the outcomes in the action plan by the reciprocal visit Final joint partnership plan agreed, signed off and submitted to BC Nigeria following sign-off at the end of summer visit to UK.
