How to build it.

Using a D-cell battery, wrap the copper wire 7 times with 3 inches of loose wire at either end Wrap the end around the coil to tie off

Sand off the insulation all the way around on the left to ¼ inch from the coil Sand of ½ the insulation around on the right side to within ¼ inch of the coil. Left – sand all insulation Right – Sand only ½ insulation from around

Bend the two large paper clips with fingers or pliers

Using the rubber band securely attach the paperclips to either side of the battery

Attach the magnet to the battery and place so the paperclip arms are facing the same direction

Place the wire coil into the holders and watch it twist
