1 How to build it.

2 Using a D-cell battery, wrap the copper wire 7 times with 3 inches of loose wire at either end Wrap the end around the coil to tie off

3 Sand off the insulation all the way around on the left to ¼ inch from the coil Sand of ½ the insulation around on the right side to within ¼ inch of the coil. Left – sand all insulation Right – Sand only ½ insulation from around

4 Bend the two large paper clips with fingers or pliers

5 Using the rubber band securely attach the paperclips to either side of the battery

6 Attach the magnet to the battery and place so the paperclip arms are facing the same direction

7 Place the wire coil into the holders and watch it twist
