2. Background On 1st April 2015, a survey was carried out among 27students; 6 students were male and 21 were female. The purpose of the survey was to discover university students’ habits of going to night market. The survey was conducted by means of a questionnaire given to the students to complete. There were ten questions relating to time, food, purpose, and cost.

3. How many times do you go to night markets a week? According to the chart on the left, we can know that most of the people go to night markets once a week (63%), followed by twice a week (19%). 7% of people never go to night markets.

4. What is your purpose to go to the night market? In this chart, we can know the purpose that most of people go to night market is to enjoy various kinds of food (39%), followed by to meet up with friends and family (18%), to avoid boredom of staying at home (16%), to go shopping (14%), to find entertainment (11%). Few people go there to eat dinner (2%).

5. What do you concern most about the food? As we can see from the chart, we can know most people care about the quality (59%) of food, follow by price (31%) ； 10% of people care about the Calorie.

6. Which one is your favorite night market? You can see that Da-Dong ( 大東 ) is the most popular night market among the students' (36%), the second most popular is Tainan Flowers Night Market( 花園 夜市 )(22%), and then is 武 聖 Night Market(11%).

7. Why do you like this night market? In this chart, “having many choice of food” (26%) is the first reason that students like to go to the night market, the second reason is “there are their favorite stalls” (20%), and then followed by “it is near home” (14%).

8. How much on average do you spend at the night market every time? As we can see from the chart above, most of the students spend $100-$300 (52%) at the night market every time; it is followed by $300-$500 (41%).

9. How long do you stay at the night market? As you can see from the pie chart, most people stay 1 to 2 hours (41 %) at night market. 11% of people stay 3 hours at there. No one stays less 1 hour and more than 4 hours there.

10. Whom do you go to the night market with? As to the people students like to go with, 56% people go to night market with friends. A small number of people go with family (33%). No one goes there alone.

11. What is your favorite night market food? From the bar chart, we can see the percentage of students who choose their favorable food in the night market. Braised snack is the most popular food, chosen by 23%; this is followed by stinky tofu, selected by 16% and fried salty chicken with 14%. Few of students choose fried sweet potato ball and fried instant noodles, each selected by 1%.

12. What time do you usually go to the night market? From the pie chart, we can know when students usually go to the night market. 48% of the students go to the night market from 7:00 to 8:30; this is followed by 9:00-11:00, chosen by 44%; 5:30-6:30 and after 11:30 are each selected by 4%. It seems that people don’t want to go to the night market too early or too late.

13. Conclusion Most of the students go to night market once a week. 大東 is the most of popular night market among the students. Having many choice of food is the main reason that students like to go to the night market. Most of the students spend $100-$300 at night market every time. Most of the students stay 1 to 2 hours at night market. Most of students go to night market with friends. The purpose that most of students go to night market is to enjoy various kinds of food. Braised snack is the most popular food. Most of students care about the quality of food. Nearly half of the students go to night market from 7:00 to 8:30.
