JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS (1) Earn a total of 225 credits (2) Pass specific subject requirements (3) Pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)

GRADUATION CREDIT REQUIREMENTS Seniors in good academic standing have 180 credits to date Minimum number of credits required for senior status is 165 Letters will be mailed home in September to seniors not on track for graduation Call counselor to schedule appointment

OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE UP CREDIT OR SUBJECT DEFICIENCIES APEX classes after school Concurrent enrollment at a community college Fall classes started Spring schedule will be available in November

CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAM (CAHSEE) Test dates for Seniors October 7 th (English) & October 8 th (Math) November 4 th (English) & November 5 th (Math) March 17 th (English) & March 18 th (Math) Tutoring is available for the CAHSEE through CEI’s after school CAHSEE Prep Course, M-F from 3:15-5:15 p.m. in Rm. B119. Students who do not pass the CAHSEE, but meet all other graduation requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion instead of a high school diploma.

Eligibility Index 10-12 UC GPA x 800 + SAT Critical Reading + SAT Math = Applicant’s Eligibility Index OR 10-12 UC GPA x 200 + 10(ACT Composite Score) = Applicant’s Eligibility Index Must have a minimum college GPA of a 2.0 Students must have a minimum eligibility index of 2900 for admission to a CSU using SAT scores, or a minimum of 694 using ACT scores. Students must have above the minimum for impacted campuses

SENIOR YEAR SAT & ACT TESTING All SAT and ACT tests must be completed by December of Senior year Impacted CSU campuses prefer that students complete testing by October test dates Students must send scores directly from testing agency to colleges- use 3594 for CSU, choose at least 1 UC Campus Student athletes must also send scores to the NCAA Clearinghouse CSU’s will use highest SAT Critical Reading & Math Scores or ACT score from multiple sittings UC’s will use highest combined SAT or ACT with Writing score from a single sitting

STUDENT ATHLETES If you are planning to play sports at a Division I or Division II college, you must register with the NCAA Clearinghouse ASAP http://ncaa.org FEE: $75 Fee waivers available to students on the subsidized lunch program, please see VPG Make contact with coach at college campus to make sure you are on track

COLLEGE HOUSING Apply for Housing EARLY!! (Check for Housing Application Deadline NOW) FAILURE TO MEET DEADLINE = NO HOUSING Check Housing Policy * Many colleges require that freshmen to live on campus * Not all colleges guarantee housing for freshmen
