Homemade Ice Cream Zip-Lock Bag Method

Materials: Small Zip-Lock Bag: 1 cup of whole milk 1 tablespoon of sugar ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract Large Zip-Lock Bag: 2 cups of Ice ½ cup Rock salt Large Zip-Lock Bag: Thermometer to check temperature of ice in large bag every minute.

Step One Place 1 cup milk, 1 tbsp sugar, ¼ tsp vanilla in small Zip-Lock bag. Close TIGHT!

Place 2 (or more) cups of ice in larger bag with ½ cup rock/ice cream salt. Record the temperature on your data sheet. Step Two

Step Three Place the sealed small bag inside of the large bag. Seal tightly.

Step Four Shake the large bag vigorously for at least ten (10) minutes. Record the temperature inside the LARGE bag every minute on your data sheet.

Extras Flavors: Add chocolate syrup in place of vanilla extract. Pieces: Add M & M’s, Reece’s pieces, chocolate chips, cookie dough, etc. Fruit: Add fresh blueberries, strawberries, or peaches.
