What Is Science? Science is the study of the world around us.

scientists The goal of science is to understand the world around us. To achieve this goal, scientists: –Make observation and ask questions. –They devise ways of finding answer to those questions –They gather evidence to support their findings and draw conclusions.

What Is Life Science? Life science is the study of living things (organisms). Life science is also called biology. (Bio-= life, -logy= study of) Botany Zoology Ornithology Ichthyology Anatomy/Physiology

What Is Earth Science? Earth science is the study of earth and space. Some branches of earth science are: –Geology (geo-: earth). –Astronomy (astr-: star) –Oceanography (-graph: picture)

What Is Physical Science? Physical science is the study of matter & energy. Some branches of physical science are: –Chemistry: atoms, elements, molecules… –Physics: gravity, pressure, electricity…
