AusTouch Step 1, to step everyone “I have been involved as a coach of soccer and swimming in junior sport for many years and I have to say that Broome AusTouch is the best organised, professional – yet fun activity I have seen. I appreciate the fun yet serious aspect of how the children are taught and my son has certainly enjoyed the experience and would like to continue and learn to play games” – Parent involved at Broome AusTouch

Case Studies Broome AusTouch Toowoomba AusTouch Had 110 participants Used 8 week program Could not set up junior comp in the past & lacked people to help. Saved many hours of work. Used promotional material & leader training “excellence assistance”. Assisted by Development Staff to promote to schools. After AusTouch starting a new junior comp the next year. Target age groups of 5 – 12 year olds. Researched other sports to provide a gap. Got Leaders from Senior Comp & parents Had over 200 participants Used Competition Model (started with skills until Week 4, then went into round robin) Already had a strong successful competition Wanted to improve skill level of 10 – 13 year olds Next year will introduce 6 – 9 year olds to program, instead of 10-13 year olds. Kids involved had better skills & knowledge by completion. Use promotional materials supplied with program Most Leaders can from being parents

From Terry McSweeney – South West Queensland "The AusTouch program in South West Qld has produced a significant benefit to the junior ranks in our region through introducing new players to Touch and improving the skill level of the current junior participants. "The AusTouch program in South West Qld has produced a significant benefit to the junior ranks in our region through introducing new players to Touch and improving the skill level of the current junior participants. Another flow on benefit is that a good percentage of leaders from the program have continued to assist in association junior competitions. Many of the leaders were parents who just attended the competitions to watch their child play but now coach, help with administration and volunteer to assist with representative teams as coaches or managers. Prior to running the AusTouch program it was difficult for a number of associations to field representative teams across all the age divisions through lack of volunteers but now some associations have more coaches and managers than required to attend these events."
