3 General eligibility rules Erasmus University Charter (EUC) Inter Institutional Agreement Mobility grants awarded only to those who are: - Registered as a student at an institution which holds an EUC - Employed by an institution which holds an EUC

4 Participating Countries European Union Member States*: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, UK * Includes the following regions: Canary Islands, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion, Azores, Madeira European Economic Area States: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland Candidate Countries: Turkey, Croatia

8 Supplements Priority countries Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey. Widening participation Encourage students who come from groups which are under-represented and those eligible for widening participation premiums on your institutional registry systems.

9 EILCs Specialised courses in less widely spoken and taught languages Student application through the Erasmus office at their home institution Grant is paid for the duration of the EILC of between 2 – 6 weeks Completed prior to Erasmus period

11 Staff Mobility

12 Teaching and Training Flat rate payments Disability Length - 1 to 6 weeks If less than 1 week, minimum of 5 hours teaching* All staff mobility must be completed by 31 July 2012 * Shorter periods may be permitted for staff training subject to institutional justification

15 Organisation of Mobility per capita grant based on numbers Supports outgoing and incoming mobility Flexibility No reporting Institutional responsibility May be subject to EC audit If no outgoing mobility pay back 10% rule

17 In Euros Allocation – set monthly student grants Paid within 45 days of signature by both parties subject to: - 2010/11 SM & TM final reports submitted to NA - No outstanding LLP debts Bank charges must be borne by institution Erasmus Mobility funds must be held in clearly designated account Payments

18 Required for all mobility between HEIs* Outline model provided in operational handbook Signed and in place before mobility Otherwise no deadline Duration Review clause NA can help find partners * Mobility between HEI and Enterprise legally bound by individual student Training Agreement Inter-institutional agreements

19 Web-based for both interim and final reporting Data fields given in Contract Annexes The co-ordinator will be sent log-in details Reporting Mobility to NA

21 Reporting – basics Collect information according to data fields (see Annexes) Standard procedure – follow the instructions! Problems - contact the British Council Importance of Interim Report – include all data ** RESPECT THE DEADLINES **

22 Mobility Contract : Head of Institution (or authorised signatory) – June to September Receipts from Interim and Final Reports : Erasmus coordinator Supplementary Mobility Contract : Head of Institution (or authorised signatory) – March to May Statement of Expenditure from Final Reports : Head of Institution, Head of Finance (or authorised signatory) – August to September Signatures
