3
Energy Harvesting Door is a device created to harvest and store electrical energy from the movement of opening and closing of a door
5
Non–renewable energy is energy which is taken from the sources that are available on the earth in limited quantity and eventually come to extinction. From the movement of the door (open/close), this potential energy can be utilized and transform into other form of energy.
7
Electromagnetic induction is a process where a conductor placed in a changing magnetic field causes the production of a voltage across the conductor and this in turn, causes an electrical current voltageelectrical current http://physics.about.com/od/physicsetoh/g/induction.htmhttp://physics.about.com/od/physicsetoh/g/induction.htm Electricity is produced by spinning copper between magnets, which produces electrons that move as current through metal (copper) conductors. With the aim of conserve the energy, potential energy is converting to kinetic energy to generate electrical energy in term of alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC).

No. NameDescription 1Magnet and coilTo convert the electrical energy from kinetic energy produce due to the movement of the door. 2 Rechargeable batteries To store the converted energy inside it. Can be used for other purposes such as light up a bulb, charging mp3 and etc. 3RectifierTo convert AC current to DC current. The DC current then will be stored inside the rechargeable batteries. 5Drive ShaftTo transmitting the torque and rotation from the movement of the door to the needle within the magnet and coil. 6Connection wiresTo connect the electronic parts within the breadboard. 7BreadboardTo be the main board in constructing the test circuit. 8SwitchTo connect or break the electrical circuit. 9Digital multimeterTo measure the voltage level, current flow and resistance in the circuit. 10PlywoodTo make a mini door as a prototype and as the container of the breadboard.
