The purpose of this course is to give you relevant, hands-on experience, with the development of database driven websites and internet based applications. Our Specific Goals Learn the basic structure and syntax of the PHP language Handle user input via form processing and URL tokens Interface PHP pages with MySQL databases Perform other programming-related activities (upload files to a server, manage file directories, authenticate users, etc.) Gain the knowledge necessary for continued, independent development of programming skills More broadly, two goals exist 1.Provide you with scalable, relevant, experience which will enhance your ability to incorporate future technologies into your tool kit 2.Augment your ability to communicate across the organization This Course

Graded Materials Exams (3) 75% Quizzes (2)20% Participation5% Exams are hands-on technical exercises completed in a fixed amount of time. There will be two quizzes given in the semester. These are constructed to prevent the remedial aspects of the class from holding you back. Participation grades are determined through a confluence of two major factors: Did you complete the technical challenges and turn them in on time? Did you participate in the in-class exercises? Portfolio Points – 200 if you haven’t taken 2501 / 400 otherwise The Mechanics
