Welcome to 4th Grade! Thank you for coming tonight! This is an important year for you! I LOVE teaching 4 th grade and I think you will love it too! Are you ready for a great year? “Success for every child every day!”

All About Me My Background I grew up in Toledo, Chicago, and Muskegon. I attended Divine Infant Elementary School, Catholic Central High School, CMU, WMU, and Bowling Green University. My Experience I’ve been teaching for 20 years. I have taught pre-school through 5 th grade, but 4th is my FAVORITE. I have been at Ross Park for 10 years.

Goals To give you the academic tools you need to progress to 5th grade. To provide a supportive learning environment. To have FUN while we learn! To make new friends and discover new interests. To be as SMART as you can be and learn as MUCH as you can learn!

There’s MORE fun in 4 th grade! Fun Friday Activities to everyone who completes work and homework! Field Trips to Lansing and other places! Gingerbread House Making! Parties! Special Science Projects (Volcanoes)! No Homework Passes! Daily HEALTHY Snacks and Exercise Time!

Class Rules 1.LISTEN when the teacher is speaking. 2.Treat others with KINDNESS. 3.RAISE YOUR HAND when to ask or answer a question. 4.STAY IN YOUR SEAT unless you have a good reason to be up. 5.COMPLETE YOUR WORK quickly and quietly. 6.BE A TEAM PLAYER and support your classmates.

Superstar Students Can Earn Fun Friday!! All students start the week with 10 stars! 7 stars on Friday, earns you FUN FRIDAY activities! Keep 7 or more by: Handing in homework every day! (or lose 2) Having your homework signed! (or lose 1) Treating classmates with kindness! (or lose 1) Listening to the teacher! (or lose 1) Behaving in other classes and lunch! (or lose 1) Working quietly! (or lose 1) Following class rules! (or lose 1) ) YOU CAN BE A SUPERSTAR STUDENT!

Homework We have SPELLING HOMEWORK Monday – Thursday! It reinforces new concepts! Teaches responsibility! Helps you become a smarter student! Your parents can even help you correct your mistakes!!!!! Is always due the NEXT day!

If You Are Late for School If you arrive after 8:25, you need to report to the office for a Tardy Slip. Help your parents! Be sure to get your things ready the night before: Be sure your homework is DONE and in your folder. Pack your backpack. Include a SNACK! Set out your clothes. Talk to your parents about the next day. Set your alarm to get up early enough to eat a good breakfast and make your bed! Don’t fall asleep with the TV on. Read a book instead!
