Food for Thought Being a good parent is hard work!
There are no magic pills or magic wands that will make it happen over night. It takes a long dedicated effort by the parent to raise a bright, self confident, happy and successful person.

Food for Thought (cont)
Have your family meetings consistently. Be consistent in establishing rules and giving consequences and rewards. Always listen to your child and give advise in a caring way – don’t preach. Be respectful of your child as a person. Be very patient and loving. Always give hugs and say kind things when you have the opportunity. Once again – listen to your child!

For the next 40 minutes the group will watch a video that presents problem parent-child interactions. At the end of each segment, I will turn off the video and we will discuss what happened and what alternatives could have been used instead of spanking.
