Supreme Gangster

Born in Mississippi Parents moved to Chicago when he was about 4 years old When he was 12, Larry was on the streets with his friends calling themselves the Supreme Gangsters He would skip school and participate in little crimes such as stealing As he got older the crimes were more serious like killing and assault By the age of 24, Hoover was in and out of prison Founder and longtime Leader of the Gangster Disciples: street gang All About Hoover

In 1874, he was sentenced 150 to 200 years in prison after he shot and killed another drug dealer but that did not stop this king from dealing. Larry would have drug deals going on in the streets and inside the prison cells. He ran it all and later in 1995 he got another life sentence. Prince Larry

Life in Prison Hoover took control right away inside the cells. He protected the inmates which made them new recruits for the Gangster Disciples Nation. While having the time to think in the cells, Larry made it mandatory for all of the members in his gang to have an education. He thought this could make them stronger.

Gangster Disciples to Growth Development Hoover started to out smart the government. He started to make his crew do things for charity and nonprofit organizations. This made every one think that Larry Hoover has changed for the better but Hoover's nonprofit organizations were actually fronts for laundering drug money. So none of the money they raised went to charity. After a 5-year investigation the government finally realized this. Hoover was now indicted for drug conspiracy, extortion, and continuing to engage in a criminal enterprise. Hoover is currently serving 6 life sentences.

Hoover's gang allegedly has had 30,000 "soldiers" in 35 states and made $100 million a year. Now he is currently in prison in the state of Colorado, Hoover is an old-school hero of the gangster community. He even is mentioned in a song by Rick Ross. “AMERICAN GANGSTER” How He Made His Name Famous?

Larry Hoover fits under the sociological theory of the Differential-Association theory. Hoover fits under this theory because he started out on the streets with his friends. It wasn’t because of is parents or if he was bullied, it was just the thing to do where he grew up in Chicago. His friends were into criminal behavior so he soon started to get involved. He was only a teenager when he was out selling and dealing drugs on the streets. Larry Hoover definitely showed his group that he was the boss by just the way he took care of them on the streets. He got in jail for life and he still continued to run his crew and keep up with his gang. It didn’t matter how long for Hoover to accomplish his ideas just as long as he got it done. Hoover got involved because of his friends and now is in it for life. Sociological Theory
