The Economy Over 250 years ago, they started the Industrial Revolution. They are still a world leader in industry and trading

The Economy Exports: Manufactured goods & machinery, as well as, computer and electronics are all major exports. Imports: They must bring in natural resources and over 1/3 of all their food. Why must they import so much food? Lack of farmland and limited growing season.

The Economy Potatoes, barley, wheat, sugar beats and turnips are all major crops. Manufacturing is a major provider for the economy.

Northern Ireland Southern counties won their independence from Britain in 1921 Northern counties were home to many British Protestants that remain loyal to United Kindom.

The People A Celtic Past- Settled there in 500BC Speak Gaelic & English (Irish dialect) 58% live in cities/towns (not as urbanized as UK) 1/3 live in Dublin, which is the capital Irish dance and music are still performed around the world today
