Graduate profile A high level summary capturing the notions of what a learner will know, understand and be able to do when they achieve a qualification or course of study May be based on: – industry collaboration – programme / module objectives – learning outcomes – performance criteria

Outcomes (Elements) In essence they are learning outcomes against which a learners’ knowledge and skills assessed For example … – Prepare, install, and commission electronic gas flow corrector

Performance Criteria (PC) defined … the critical evidence required to meet the stated outcomes … collectively PCs provide the standards against which outcomes are assessed

Range Statements a statement used to clarify evidence requirements and /or assessment conditions for example … may include spanner, wrench, screw driver … will include nut, bolt, washer range statements help to ensure that the same factors are considered for the assessment of each learner

International best practice This method / approach is considered best practice and is adopted by a wide range of international agencies including: – New Zealand Qualifications Authority – Scottish Qualifications Authority – Australian Qualifications Framework – Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency
