2 Activity Goal l Build a wind turbine with simple materials l The wind turbine must withstand the wind generated by a fan or hair dryer and rotate for 1 minute to lift a small object

9 Outline and Procedures l Divide into teams of three (3) l Review the requirements l Agree on a solution and create a sketch of your design l Build a model of your design with given materials l Test your model

10 Redesign after testing l Discuss and agree upon a redesign l If needed after testing, or l to enhance the previous design l Rebuild your wind turbine l Retest your model l Answer Evaluation Phase questions as a team

11 Evaluation Phase Questions l Did your design succeed? If not, why did it fail? l Did you decide to revise your design? Why? l What is one thing you would change about your design based on your experience? l How would you modify the instructions to create a better experience for the participants?
