3 Tip1: Show up for the interview well dressed and well pressed. A suit and tie, or the equivalent for women, is the appropriate dress. Make sure the suit is clean and pressed by a cleaner. Tip2: Shake hands well and make eye contact. Most westerners prefer a strong handshake, but fairly brief, perhaps two or three seconds. Tip3: Look the interviewer in the eye when introducing yourself, and frequently when answering questions. Westerners like eye contact. Tip4: Remember the interviewer’s name, so you can use it throughout the interview. Call them Mr. or Ms. Tip5: Answer questions honestly. Experienced interviewers can often tell when you’re not honest. Tip6: Take a moment to compose your thoughts before answering difficult questions. Tip7: Do some research ahead so you’ll know about the company and the position. This will help you answer questions, and impress the interviewer. Tip8: Show enthusiasm for the company and the job.
