6. ECEDHA and IEEE CEAA Questions from April 2008 EAB Meeting 1.Does ABET criterion 2 provide useful information for you to modify and improve your program? NO (~60%) 2.Do ABET-specified outcomes enable you to determine whether your program is accomplishing its goals? NO (~60%) 3.In the absence of a ABET requirement, would your programs continue outcomes-based assessment? Overwhelmingly NO (70-75% NO) ECEDHA was requested to provide feedback to IEEE CEAA from its open forum.

7. ECEDHA 2008 Meeting Open Forum ABET Comments 1.The definition of evaluation is being construed to mean that unless changes are made that no evaluation has been performed. 2.Criterion 3 is being interpreted that outcomes a-k must be included verbatim as the program outcomes even when an institutions unique outcomes can be mapped to a-k. 3.Presentation of data about student performance without evaluation of that data is deemed sufficient to meet the requirement of Criterion 3. 4.Criterion 4 does not appear to require programs to evaluate the effect of changes, just to make changes. ECEDHA concerns to convey to ABET during revision process.
