1 OTC/ Prescription Day 1 Part 1 - Ask these questions to the students and have them answer on a separate sheet of paper. 1. When I hear the word drugs, I first think of: 2. Name at least 5 drugs that you have heard of. 3. True or False - Generic drugs are the same as Name brand drugs. 4. What does OTC stand for? 5. When I get a cold, I handle it by doing: (what?) Part 2 - Directions for the PowerPoint: -Slides 2-11 are instructional showing parts of the drug facts label. You can print the “notes” version and follow along using the script. -Slides 12-19 are scenarios you can choose from for the students to work together to answer about the drug facts label. Again, use the “notes” at the bottom to help.

7 7 The warnings section tells you:  When you should not use the medicine at all  When you should talk to your doctor first  How the medicine might make you feel  When you should stop using the medicine  Things you should not do while taking the medicine.
