The following week, another 3 inches of rain had fallen. There was no rain the third week and the gauge had dropped 2 inches. How much rain is registered after the third week? Understand Read the problem. Write what you know. The gauge began at 5 inches. Another 3 inches were added the second week. The third week showed a loss of 2 inches.
