Planning for Growth Ongoing planning since fall 2005 –Planning for Growth Committee –Board Meetings –Administrative Work –Architect Work Through the planning process, several projects have emerged. The identified projects help in two ways: –Accommodate the student growth through new construction –Bring facilities up to date through renovation

Identified Projects Build Elementary School Number 7 (16.5 m) Reconstruct College Hills (18 m) Renovate current athletic facilities (8.8 m) –Both Field Houses –Athletic Stadium Renovations/State of the Facilities (14 m) –CATE Classrooms at AMCHS –Middle School Fine Arts Classroom Land Acquisition (2 m) Technology (2.6)

Identified Projects As identified, the scope of the projects is estimated to cost $68,395,000 The cost estimate includes bidding a new elementary and the reconstruction of College Hills in 2007 Bidding the athletic facilities renovations in 2008 Includes a contingency cost of 15% above the estimate from the architect

Identified Projects Will allow for ongoing projects to be completed using Interest and Sinking funds as opposed to maintenance and operation funds Designates money to be used for land purchase to accommodate future needs Allows for technology updates

Moving Forward Determine the best methods for managing construction projects Select an architect(s) Calling an election for a bond in February, 2007 with the election taking place in May, 2007 Training from the Texas Ethics Commission Working with the City of College Station related to potential land development sites Recommending a site for Elementary Number 7
