doc.: IEEE 802.11-10/1332r0 Submission Nov. 2010 Slide 2 China mm-Wave Standard Group Progress In Sept 2010, CWPAN mm-WAVE held a task group meeting at Nanjing. Over 50 representatives from Chinese and International companies, research institutes and universities, attended the standard meeting. CWPAN opens doors to all of international companies, research institutes and universities. http://www.nits.org.cn/getIndex.req?action=findAllNews&req=modulenvpr omote&type=0&moduleId=422&sid=33 http://www.nits.org.cn/getIndex.req?action=findAllNews&req=modulenvpr omote&type=0&moduleId=422&sid=33 Contact: Lan Zhuo, 86-13693593001, this_zl7812@163.com Xiaoming Peng, +65-64082429, pengxm@i2r.a-star.edu.sg

doc.: IEEE 802.11-10/1332r0 Submission Nov. 2010 Slide 3 Current Status of China mm-WAVE Standard Two major topics are discussed –Is it necessary to design a new mm-WAVE standard solution for frequency range at around 50 GHZ. –Is it possible to merge the solutions for both 60 GHz and 50 GHz? Conclusion –Less testing instruments at 60 GHz, China Industry must design the mm- WAVE solution for the frequency range between 45GHz50 GHz. The study group was formulated. –Try to find an unique solution (PHY, MAC) for both 60 GHz and 50 GHz – IEEE802.11ad has been listed as one reference for China mm-WAVE standard.

At least, one unique MAC layer may be accepted for both 60 GHz and 50GHz. Study one or multiple PHY solutions for mm-WAVE solutions.
