14. The lack of security of this day was one of the main concerns for the economy. It was even noted just two weeks before the attacks, a veteran pilot stated, “It’s absurd to think we are safe.”

15. Many measures were taken and are still in effect in the entire 21 st century. 1.Ban of any kind of knives or cutting devices, these even included metal or plastic, razor blades or blazers. (Eisenberg, 2) 2.Ban on curbside check-in, forbidding anyone to accompany passengers to the gate. 3.Having background checks of airline personal. 4.Thoroughly checking the planes before the airline is boarded.

16. Security has tightened up it is just hard to make Americans feel safe again on planes.

17. After September 11, the government made quick decisions and immediately put them into action. (Johnson, 2)

18. The government discriminated and required special registration of certain Arab and Muslim noncitizens. (Johnson, 2) In rare cases, Arab and Muslims were even deported or interrogated by the government.

19. The immigration reforms did not just affect the Arab and Muslims but it also affected all immigrants coming to America. Throughout the 21 st century it is proven that noncitizens hiring rates are lower due to employees requiring certain citizenship requirements.

20. In America people were comforted with the rising sense of patriotism.

21. Musical artists had one of the biggest effects. Just ten days after the attacks, pop artists wrote songs in remembrance of attacks such as: Brunce Springsteen’s “America: A Tribute to Heros” and Alan Jackson debuted, “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).”

22. Even ten years later on the anniversary, music artists remembered nine- eleven and these songs were played yet again.

23. The stock market stayed closed from September 11 until September 17, this was the longest shut down since 1933. (Davis, 1)

24. The first day that the stock market was closed it fell 684 points which was a 7.1 % decline. This statistic was a record for the largest loss in exchange history for just one trading day.

25. One of the largest and known things that nine-eleven lead to was the war in Iraq.

26. The war continued through the entire 21 st century from March 20, 2003 until December 15, 2011. The war killed 4, 500 American soldiers.

27. The war lead to many controversies in the United States that lead to protests in America.

28. America is still feeling the effect today financially and soldiers contracting different diseases from the war such as post traumatic stress disorder.
